Coles charged consumers 36 per cent more for a cleaning product despite advertising it as discounted, according to documents filed with the Federal Court by the competition regulator as part of its sham pricing case against the supermarket giants.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is suing Coles and Woolworths, accusing the nation’s two largest grocery chains of offering supposedly discounted prices on goods which were marked higher than their original shelf price.
