A Tune

A Faraday cage is used to prevent electronics from disturbing or possible damaging electromagnetic fields. Metal sheets can be used to build such an application – equipotentials have the same effect.

A Farady Cage

Researchers from the Drexel University's College of Engineering have now found a new way to switch that effect on or off, or to switch elektromagnetic field effect on or off.

They spray coated a special prepared MXene material with an electrolyte on a sheet and changed the behavior by applying a small voltage. The spray coating enables it for many new applications where electronics need to be shielded or stay undetected.

Mxene material has already been identified for its special electrical behavior. The material is just a few atoms thick and together with the electrolyte is can be used for many applications where the electromagnetic field needs to be able to control.
