Production has begun at the Kentucky Truck Plant on the 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty Truck.

"We set out one very clear goal, build the best truck in the world and crush the competition – I think we can safely say we're doing just that," said KTP plant manager Joe Closurdo.

More than 8,500 UAW workers here at the Kentucky Truck Plant will have a hand in assembling it.

"This is one of the largest investments in Louisville's history – it means our dedicated Kentucky workers would be the force behind this new Ford F-Series Super Duty Truck," said Gov. Andy Beshear.

On Wednesday, Ford, along with state and city leaders, gathered to celebrate the start of production.

It's all part of a $700 million investment adding 500 new jobs for products assembled in Louisville.

"This is our most profitable plant globally, and Super Duty is, I believe, 40% share in the U.S. — it's twice as big as the next competitor, and it's because of the hard work here," said Ford CEO Jim Farley.

It takes roughly 16 hours from start to finish to build the new Ford Super Duty Truck. Thousands of workers play a part in assembling it, with parts shipped from throughout the country and throughout the world, from states across the entire country.
