Hello Kitty Cafe pop

Jul 02, 2023

Her expressionless face and bright pink bow are iconic. They have been plastered on countless figurines, clothing, backpacks and coloring pages throughout the decades.

First featured on a vinyl coin purse sold in Japan in 1975, Hello Kitty gained global popularity in the 1980s and went on to become arguably the most famous kitten in the world — no offense Heathcliff.

Soon, fans of the popular Sanrio character will have their chance to purchase exclusive Hello Kitty goodies when the Hello Kitty Cafe pop-up truck rolls back into Stockton on Saturday, June 10.

Merchandise and limited edition collectibles, ranging from plushies to t-shirts and lunchboxes, will be sold at the pink cafe on wheels. Hand-decorated cookies will also be available to those who are looking for a tasty treat.

The pop-up truck can be found from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Weberstown Mall near Blaze Pizza.

It's best to arrive early as wait times can exceed four hours.

No cash. Employees will only accept credit and debit card payments.

The truck will also be making stops at Sacramento's Arden Fair Mall from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, and at Walnut Creek on Saturday, June 17.

Since the pop-up truck made its debut in Southern California in 2014, it has embarked on several tours and drawn crowds of up to hundreds of Hello Kitty lovers at each stop. To date, it has made appearances in more than 100 U.S. cities.
